Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, or ADAS, are the features that help keep you in your lane, brake when traffic stops and hold a safe distance on the motorway. They work using cameras and radar that have to point in exactly the right direction. Knock them out of line and the system can react late or read the road wrong.
When your car likely needs ADAS calibration
- After a windscreen replacement if the forward camera sits on the glass
- After a front or rear bumper repair or replacement
- When a camera or radar sensor is removed or disturbed
- After suspension work or a wheel alignment
- Following any collision near a sensor location
Why it matters so much
A camera that is out by a fraction of a degree at the bumper can be aimed metres off down the road. That is the difference between the car braking in time and braking late. Calibration brings everything back to the maker's specification so the system protects you the way it was designed to.
Static and dynamic calibration
Some calibrations are done in the workshop using targets set at precise distances. Others need a short road drive so the system can learn from real conditions. Many cars need both. We confirm what yours needs when we assess it.
Get a report you can keep
We calibrate to specification and give you documentation for your records. If you have had glass or panel work done elsewhere and you are not sure it was calibrated, bring it in and we will check.
